MAGFest 2024 Recap/Thoughts

MAGFest INC

Hello once again, you guys.

Very belated post but I attended this year’s MAGFest conference, my 10th one possibly.

On day 1 of the conference, I picked up my badge despite an expectedly long line (they thankfully dropped the pointless wristband from the previous conference). I spent a bit of time in the arcade, the marketplace, and a panel on tutorials in Valve games before my dad picked me up.

I didn’t go on day 2 because of bad weather.

On day 3 of the conference, in addition to playing in the arcade and roaming around the marketplace I attended an attendee run tournament of Skee-Ball; I failed to qualify after the first round.

I was gonna attend attendee run tournaments for The New Tetris and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but the slots were all full for the former tournament , which I didn’t expect, and I forgot to bring my GameCube controller for the latter tournament.

I also spent some time inside the museum and attended some of a panel in which former Nintendo Software Technology music composer Lawrence Schwedler described his time working on music at the company, which was fairly interesting.

On the final day of the conference I mainly spent some time in the arcade.

Other than the fact that it was a bit more crowded than it usually was, I had a decent time as usual with this year’s MAGFest.

See ya later.
