MAGFest 2020 Recap/Thoughts

Hey guys, here’s my quick recap along with my thoughts on this year’s MAGFest!

I went the whole weekend, except my dad was only available on Thursday, Friday and Sunday for personal reasons.

Thursday: Not much of any note happened on this day, except the long line before the staff opened the arcade.

I wanted to sign up for the Smash Ultimate tournament they were having that day, but by the time the arcade opened due to an unknown delay (it opened at 2:15 instead of 1:00), they had already cancelled it.

I spent most of my time in the arcade and bought a GameCube glass from the Pint-Sized Pixels vendor in the marketplace.

Friday: Didn’t spend much time on this day because my dad had to go to North Carolina for personal reasons.

Saturday: I spent the most time on this day (~11 hours, in fact) and only my mom was with me this time.

I signed up for another Smash tournament and stayed at Shesez’ panel a bit to kill some time.

When the tournament started, I was out of the bracket in the first round.

Later, I bought a second copy (my old one died out long ago) of Mario Kart: Double Dash from Re:Gen’s vendor and managed to befriend one of the employees. (A note that despite the price tag shown in the image link, I negotiated a $40 deal)

Sunday: I signed up for another Smash tourney, and this time I did well enough to get into the second round before I was out.

Overall, I had a great time (despite how crowded it got on Saturday) and look forward to next year 2022’s conference.

See y’all later.
